Each and every month, I strive to bring you a fresh and fun kit, chock full of paper and possibilities. The kit comes in four options each month, each of them first come, first serve: The Essentials, The Extras, The Trimmings and then all three combined into what we call the Pièce de Résistance kit. Any way you look at it, I hope you love my kits as much as I enjoy putting them together for you.
Today and tomorrow are the final days to be able to shop the liquidation prices in the Scrapperie Boutique. October Spice of Life kits are 20% off and the discounts just get better from there!
The Scrapperie Boutique is now in the final days of liquidation. The Boutique will close its doors forever within the next week. There is still a ton of super packed kits for well below cost - and loads of new Bazzill has just been added as well as some other fun goodies that I've found while cleaning out the store.
Shop early for the best selection- once kits are gone, they are gone for good!
For the new year, Scrapperie is going back to basics! Since I will no longer be offering monthly kits, I've decided to go back to doing what I really love: sharing my passion for scrapbooking with others who feel just like me!
Starting in January, I am going to once again start up our Wednesday Bingo games, monthly crops and weekly challenges. But before I decide which challenges we'll be doing, I wanted your help in the decision making. Will you please take a few minutes and go vote for your top five favorite types of challenges in this thread in the forums: http://scrapperie.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13525 ?
With the new year, I am also looking for a new breed of Très Chic Girls: Since I wont't have monthly kits to offer in compensation, I'm asking you to come share your passion for scrapbooking with everyone on the forums- simply because you love being part of the Scrapperie community. I am looking for one person to head up each of the five weekly scrapping challenges. I will also need one person who would like to be in charge of running the monthly crops and one person who would like to head up and run weekly Wednesday Bingo games. If this sounds like something you might want to do, send me an email at sandiminchuk@yahoo.com with your user name/real name and what you'd like to do. Past and present Très Chic Girls and Guest Designers are more than encouraged to apply!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I'll get right back to you.
I just wanted to send out a short email letting everyone know that as of this morning, I've changed the Boutique over to liquidation mode. October's kit, Spice of Life, will be my last monthly kit. The kit will not ship until December 1st, due to problem upon problem with manufacturers. It greatly saddens me to resort to this, but I cannot, in all good conscience continue to put together kits when I can't count on manufacturers to deliver what I'm promising my customers.
EVERYTHING in the Boutique, besides the Spice of Life kit, has been marked to sell. I have tons and tons of new goodies that have been loaded into the store and I've marked prices at a great savings. It goes without saying that if you see something you want, get it before it's gone. Once everything is gone, I'll turn the store off.
I will not turn off the Scrapperie forums, and shortly, I'll be announcing a new challenge team call. I'd like to make Scrapperie your new home away from home- full of great people and inspiration and not structured around sales and kits. There will be more crops, more contests and Bingo will finally return! I can't wait to unveil the new and improved Scrapperie in 2010- I hope you'll be with me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your years of being my customer, it has truly been an honor.
this simple technique gives your photos that older polaroid feel with the white border.
you will need;
white paint brush paint tray paper towel cardboard/scrap heavier paper photos
start off by cutting your cardboard/scrap heavier paper 1/8" or 1/4" of what your photo size is. this will give you the space needed to make your white border around your photo.
you will now paint around that edge that is showing keeping your paint brush kinda dry and simple quick strokes not to over saturate the edge around the cardboard/photo area. if you do have too much paint it will tend to 'bleed' under the cardboard and your border will not be very clean 'cut'.
by carefully lifting the cardboard after painting you can remove your photo as the paint dries pretty fast.
laying that photo aside you want to quickly wipe off excess paint around the edge of your cardboard for the next photo (if any). that way you won't get paint on your next photo where you don't want it to be.
wa-lah! super simple technique that changes the look of your photos. i'm sure if you cropped your photos down to that square size like the old 110 photos use to be you will get more of an authentic look but this still rocks and it doesn't take much at all to change up your normal creating.
have fun and produce your next fabulous layout creation! can't wait to see! :)
The short word I picked for the Say The Word challenge today can be very helpful for titles and journaling prompts and is extremely versatile (for example consider pairing it with a question mark or an exclamation point). I hope that it will get you inspired to create something!
Today's word for this Say the Word Challenge is:WHAT
And here is my example:
Do not forget to add your creation to the Scrapperie Gallery and to link us in this thread to be entered in the monthly giveaway!
stamp (clear or rubber work fine and an image might appear better than wording) an acrylic block (or you can use a piece of acetate) ink (i didn't find stazon to work very well...it dries too fast for me) chalk (optional) paper for your background
Start off by stamping your image where you want it to be on your background (keep in mind that you will need the same size space below your image for the "mirrored" stamp).
This is where the acrylic block or acetate comes in...ink and stamp the same image on the acrylic or acetate.
Flipping it over you can see the "correct" image throw the other side.
Keeping this back side up you will need to rotate the image so it is facing the opposite of the first image.
Take a minute or two to press on it to get every bit of ink off the acryic or acetate you can as it will take on a faded look to begin with.
There can be many ways to finish decorating this 'reflected' image but i chose to make a water appearance with chalk.
Finish off your design with a color pencil or pen if you want to.
Have fun with this. Use phrases or other fun animal shapes. I am sadly limited with my stamp choice so this cute little owl was my choice.
